Fall is my favorite time of the year. Usually I stick with tea or coffee with milk or cream but during the fall, I try other flavors and types of hot drinks. Sweater weather is perfect time to get cozy with a warm drink and a relaxing activity (reading book, crafting, watching tv, chatting with a friend, etc). I’m sharing a few other cards I created for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop to show my love not only for the drinks but the cups in which we pour our drinks! When people think of fall, they think of leaves, pumpkins, and sweaters. What comes to your mind? Honestly, I just think of staying indoors with a cup of homemade tea with my family. 😉
I have been wanting to practice coloring with Copic markers for a while now. It seems that one thing or another gets in the way and priorities keep shifting. I am not expert on shading or blending and especially not on light source. Fortunately, I was happy with my practice with shading these cups. I like how they turned out and it motivates me to keep trying!
The cup was a digital design that Effie from The Ton sent to me so I used it for all three cards. The “Get it, girl” sentiment is from Get it Girl and “I am lucky to have you” is from I Got You.
I don’t know why my pictures don’t come out so bright anymore, but I’m working on it. 🙂 I added a touch of glossy accents on the tea part. Lately, I’ve been drinking a lot of tea lately since I don’t have a coffee maker at home but I love both equally.
I am not sure if you can tell but those teacups have foil outlines. I think teacups with the gold linings are gorgeous. Initially, I wanted to add floral artwork to the cups but that was a disaster. I’m not good at drawing or free coloring, but I’ll practice that more another time. If you want to read more about foiling, check out my post here on foiling background stamps.
Make sure to link up one of your own projects to the link-up on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog for your chance to win one of many sponsored prizes! You have until Friday, October 2 at 11:59 p.m. PST (or 3:00 EST).
**GIVEAWAY** I have a giveaway for my special blog subscribers. I have one laminator to give away to a random commenter who is subscribed to my blog so he/she can try their own foiling (I can’t afford a Minc to giveaway, sorry! :)) Also, I’d love for you to check out my social media sites (they are linked in the sidebar).
