Hi friends, I’m sharing two floral beauties today. I love the Inspiring Quote Cards Collection from Just Dandy Studio. They are great as notecards to friends, but as a cardmaker, I wanted to add them to some cards. In my first JDS creative post, I used the notecard in a shaker card.
I challenged myself to use two Altenew stamps that I hadn’t inked up yet: Watercolor Wonders and Vintage Roses. I didn’t use the guides for either one and just went with whatever seemed right. Of course, there’s no wrong way to use or stamp the images in Watercolor Wonders because it is meant to be one of the more abstract sets. It gave me a chance to use their new ink pad colors. I used my MISTI to help me align the images on the card base and on the notecard itself.
For the first card, I stamped different layers in different colors and added the notecard with foam tape for dimension.
For my second card, I used one of the stems and leaves stamp to stamp in Altenew red inks (even using generational stamping with one of the colors. I added the second layer with a glittery gold embossed look (inspired by the latest Altenew challenge). Once that was done, I added a strip of gold glitter and pink cardstock on the left and matted down the notecard with foam tape. Using distress inks, I splattered some black and blue with a watercolor brush.
