Hi, I’m sharing a small project today that goes perfectly along with the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge run by Jennifer McGuire.
But first, check out a site called Postable! By sharing your personal link, your friends can add their contact info and birthdays. This is perfect for keeping all the addresses in one place — I’m constantly checking my Facebook message history or e-mails or even texts to find someone’s address. I mean, I’m organized, but I’m also disorganized in many aspects. 🙂 Here is my link if you want to add your address and birthday. I think I’ve been sending about 25-50 cards per month, especially in the last few months. I’ve already got a growing list for November – 30 and counting and it’s only the 5th. 😉 I definitely won’t be able to do this next year…
For today’s project, I used Just Dandy Studio’s Happy Blooms gift wrap and cut it down to 4 x 4 so it would fit into a photo frame that I have had since last year. I received it in a Stampin Up kit once but linked to a different 4 x 4 frame below in the product list. I stamped an image and sentiments from Concord and 9th’s Being Classy and Love You, Mean It (I won one of their gift cards on Instagram so I bought these adorable stamps). I heat set the word ‘kind’ using clear embossing powder to give it a nice shine. I inserted the paper in the frame and that’s it. So simple but sweet. This is going to a close friend of mine.
I also used one of the white tags that Melissa from Just Dandy Studio sent to me. I stamped the small images from Love You, Mean it and stamped the sentiment “I happen to adore you.” Seriously, that’s it. So easy. Have you noticed that my style keeps changing? We all take inspiration from one another. It would be incorrect for me to say that I’m original because all my craft friends inspire me. Maybe someday I’ll find one style that works for me, but for now, I enjoy trying everything (except mixed media…haven’t really gotten into that yet).
I’ve started a daily gratitude challenge on my main Instagram account if you want to check it out. I’m determined to incorporate some writing in my posts because I miss that part of myself. You have no idea how much I appreciate knowing that people enjoy reading my posts. Vulnerability is not something I’m comfortable with. I’m usually tempted to delete things, but I remind myself that what people think, do, or say is only a reflection of who they are and that doesn’t have to define me. It doesn’t have to mean anything. My goal is to practice detachment from praise or criticism. Sure, I love comments and feedback, but I don’t let it get to my head. I am not a top crafter, and I just have so so so much to learn. I love that there’s a lot to learn. It doesn’t make me upset that I haven’t gotten to a certain place. The learning is the part I love most. Because even if we achieve a particular goal, we’ll always want something else. Right?! Do I make sense!? 😉
I wanted to end on a good note and share that I have accepted a job offer. I’m going through the unhurried hiring process and will eventually be busy with work life. After the holidays, my crafting will slow down, but don’t worry — I don’t plan to give it up altogether (I’ve spent too much money?!?!) I usually need time to make adjustments to major life changes. Thank you for your patience and all the love! ?
