Hello friends! I have a special post today. As a long time caffeine drinker, I have enjoyed trying different kinds of tea (and coffee). For most of my life, I drank black tea + milk (we call that chai), and in the last few years, I’ve started drinking other types of tea. This summer, I discovered Palais des Thés in NYC and bought a few green teas. When I ran out, I placed an order online. I was so impressed with their customer service and fast shipping that I told a few friends about it, too. Today’s giveaway is sponsored by Palais des Thés so please be sure to stop by and thank them for their generosity! If you’re in NYC, you must visit their adorable little shop. You get free samples with every order. I also have a tea card to share with you.
Please enter the giveaway using the Rafflecopter below. This is my first time using it so please be patient if there are any glitches. The following are mandatory entries to qualify: Follow Palais des Thes USA on Instagram, follow me on Instagram, visit Palais des Thes on Facebook, and leave a comment below telling me your favorite comfort drink. This particular tea in the giveaway won’t be available for order until November 5.
Before I share the card, I want to talk about how much fun I’m having with my Brother ScanNCut 2. I’ve had it for about a month so far and feel that it’s been worth the money. You can check out my initial impressions here (along with some organization tips). This past weekend, I stamped a lot of images and had my SNC cut them all out. For the most part, it works really well. I have been using the low-tack adhesive mat so I use painter’s tape or micropore tape to secure the cardstock on the mat (so it doesn’t move). A few of my pieces did move, but it’s all a learning experience for me anyway 🙂 I finally figured out what to use my pretty bowl for… look at all the images I’ve cut! I’m sure I can create over 200 cards with these images alone.
Have you heard about sharing handmade kindness? Jennifer McGuire has launched an amazing initiative that encourages people to share anything handmade. Since last year, I know I’ve sent hundreds of cards (maybe even a thousand or more?!) to friends and strangers and other crafters so I feel great knowing I’ve spread some kindness in such a simple way of doing what I love. Now I can connect with even more people and continue to share in the goodness. Will you be participating in the challenge to #sharehandmadekindness? Also, we do love receiving cards back, too! 😛 I’ve noticed that I only get back about 10% of cards, but I keep in mind that my initial intention is to make a small difference in someone’s life and that, in turn, makes me happy. 🙂
Now, for my card. I used Jane’s Doodles TEArrific set to create a vibrant shaker card.
This is a card that’ll be my first “entry” during the Share Handmade Kindness challenge this month. The images were stamped with MFT black hybrid ink and cut with my ScanNCut. I colored with Copic markers and assembled the three frames with dura-lar film. I added in some sead and bugle beads in coordinating colors and sealed it with foam tape.
Did you enjoy today’s inspiration? Thank you for all the love! ?
