Lately, I’ve been on a watercoloring kick – mainly because I finally decided to organize all the different watercolor paper I bought last year in bulk and hardly got around to using. I’d just cut myself some A2 pieces and then color, without paying much attention to whether the paper would pill, the colors would blend, etc. As you know, I’m not picky about everything. Cardbase, yes. That has to be great. Everything else, I can let slide because we have an artistic license and art can be anything – even if colors don’t blend well! 😉

For my card today, I did some loose watercoloring and I love the look. I ended up making this card in less than 20 minutes because I got called in to work an extra shift at my job.

Using Ranger black ink (watercolor-proof) and Canson watercolor paper, I stamped the cup in the middle first and then with some masking tape covering that cup, I stamped the other two cups. I colored them in with my Winsor & Newton paints (such a great investment!) and created splatters with the black ink. If you can’t tell, I am wishing it was spring or summer already so I can get some fruit-flavored drinks. 🙂 I LOVE fruit. And colors. Once it was dry, I added the Snow Marker liquid over the whipped cream part and heat set it so it could puff up. I added some gold gouache over the ‘foam’ to indicate caramel drizzle.

I stamped the straws using The Ton couture inks. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark on black cardstock and heat set with white embossing powder. I cut the panel down to 4″ x 5.25″ and matted it down onto my white cardbase. And that was all 🙂 I’ll be back on Thursday with more Lil’ Inker Design products!

Ruby, really cute! The heart straw reminds me of being a kid. My mom used to buy me those Silly Straws in all different shapes. The whip cream looks so real, the caramel finished it off. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
