Today, The Ton Design Team would like to celebrate and wish Effie the happiest of birthdays!

Each of us created a birthday card in her honor. Be sure to stop by each blog!

Most people give out cards for birthdays, but that’s the type of cards I have created the least. When Papertrey Ink had their annual birthday sale last month, I decided to invest in a few of their birthday stamps and dies. For today’s post, I used only dies and watercolors so no stamping was involved 🙂 There are two cards in this post, but they have the same look – just varying slightly in colors.

To begin, I used my Mission Gold watercolors and created a colorful panel. I die-cut white cardstock using the Balloon Bash Cover Die and fussy cut the watercolor diagonally with the white piece over it (so I could see where the colors show through). This allowed me to use the watercolor panel for two cards. I glued the pieces together with adhesive.

I used three of The Ton Couture Color ink pads to blend color onto white cardstock and die-cut some balloon shapes. I arranged them over the stitched balloon strings and matted them down with foam tape.

On a separate white cardstock piece, I blended Lemon Drop dye ink with my blending tool. I die-cut the word “Hooray!” twice and then die-cut four more pieces from white cardstock so that I could stack them for dimension for both cards). I glued it with Glossy accents and added the whole front panel with foam tape over white cardbase.

I didn’t add anything else because I thought it was colorful enough. 🙂 Happy Birthday, Effie! Thank you for visiting! ♡
