Hello! So excited to tell you that I’m a May Guest for the MFT Challenge & Inspiration – sketch features! I haven’t used sketches in a long time for cards so this is indeed a challenge for me! 🙂
Allow me to share what I created using this week’s sketch:
I tend to be a bit literal when I see sketches, but I tried to deviate somewhat. For this card, I used MFT Stamps’ newest release Magical Unicorns and End of the Rainbow.
To begin, I started with a watercolor panel 4″ x 5.5″ and die-cut with one of the die from Die-namics Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX (my new fave shape die!). I removed the center piece and set it aside to use for another time. I added blue watercolor all over the panel and let it dry. I die-cut the rainbow and colored each piece with watercolors. I die-cut the clouds and stamped a sentiment on one of them. I stamped the unicorn with Ranger Black waterproof ink and colored it. I fussy cut him and then I went to work in arranging the pieces together.
The idea came to mind that I wanted to use the cloud in place of the banner in the sketch, and I knew that I wanted the rainbow to go behind the cloud. The rainbow went behind the cut panel and all the other pieces went over it. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh droplets because they have a rainy look to it. Hope you liked my card today 🙂
