MFT Challenge & Inspiration Guest: Sketch 281
Hello! I’m back for my third guest post for the MFT Challenge & Inspiration – sketch features!
Allow me to share what I created using this week’s sketch:
This sketch wasn’t too difficult to work with. Once again, I tried to think outside the box for it 🙂 I wanted to create a really simple scene using Warm & Fuzzy Friends.
To begin, I masked off watercolor cardstock on all four sides using 1″ painter’s masking tape. This allows me to color the center without having to add it as a separate layer. I used my Mission Gold watercolors to add black, blue and green watercolors to create a grass ground and dark night sky. I let it dry before I added some shimmer and white pigment spray for a starry look. I set it aside to dry completely before removing the tapes. Separately, I stamped the animal and fire/logs onto watercolor cardstock and colored them, too. I fussy cut the images. I used the banner from Die-namics Blueprints 27 and cut off the flag corners. I stamped the sentiment ‘you’re a breath of fresh air’ from Warm & Fuzzy Friends. Finally, I added the sentiment and images with foam tape. I loved this so much that I want to make more cards using similar method!
