MFT Challenge & Inspiration Guest: Sketch 282

Hello!  I’m back for my last guest post for the MFT Challenge & Inspiration – sketch features!

Allow me to share what I created using this week’s sketch:

I was so proud of myself for coming up with this interpretation of the sketch. When I saw the five circles and Make Yourself at Home, I thought to use the five pillows on the couch!

I think this was one of the most relaxing cards I created in a while! I began by using Die-namics Make Yourself at Home and cutting blank watercolor cardstock. The reason I did this is because the dies are open so you can die cut first and then stamp the image or vice versa. I stamped all the images after with Ranger black (waterproof) ink. I colored them using my Mission Gold watercolors. It was SO relaxing coloring them all.

For the background, I masked off part of an A2 watercolor panel and stamped the BG Geometric Grid Background in a light gray ink. I removed the mask, stamped the carpet stamp, and colored around it for an indoor floor look. I stamped the sentiment onto a banner cut from Die-namics Blueprints 27. I arranged all the pieces with foam tape. I definitely plan on using this set more to create lovely scenes like these 🙂

You really made this sketch you own. You’ve decorated this little room perfectly. Awesome card.

Rubeena this is beautiful! I love the unusual way you have interpreted the sketch, the gorgeous wall/background with the pictures and mirror are such lovely touches, then the sofa with the cushions! The whole card exudes class and chic and it’s just fabulous fantastic stamping and colouring – I love it. Hope you are having a good week Karen x
