Today we are celebrating the 7th annual Caring Hearts Card Drive with a fun blog hop! The purpose of this card drive is to collect handmade holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes around the world. Since 2010 we have been bringing joy to many nursing homes throughout the US, Canada and Australia. And this year, we are branching out to the UK! What better way to share our love of card making than to bring joy to others, right? We hope you’ll join us in supporting the card drive. Details for the card drive can be found at: Vera Yates Blog & Jennifer McGuire’s Blog!
The sad part is that this year due to be newly married, starting a new job and moving into a new apartment (this week), I haven’t had time to create cards for the drive but I may mail in cards I’ve got sitting around. 🙂 Last year and the year before, I submitted about 500 each. Next year, I’ll be back at it again 🙂 It doesn’t matter whether you donate 1 or 10 or 100, just remember that it’s going to someone who will REALLY appreciate the time and effort that went into it. Set good intentions. <3

I made a quick and easy holiday card for you today. 🙂 I started with watercolor paper and stamped the sentiment from Holly Jolly with VersaMark and my MISTI. I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Once that was done, I blended various blue hues of distress ink. This is one of my favorite techniques since I first discovered crafting two years ago! The white sentiment looks great against the ombre background. To finish it off, I simply splattered some water and then sprayed with white pigment spray and shimmer spray (adds such a nice shimmer to the background, which is hard to photograph). Today is World Kindness Day, and we’d love for you to spread the news about the Caring Hearts Card Drive! Thank you!!
Please excuse my photos…I tried multiple times but the lighting just wouldn’t come out right. Hope you still liked it 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting!
