Hi friends! Thank you for stopping by today. You should have arrived from Justine’s blog! I am excited to share that I am a guest for the Gina K. Designs February Release Blog Hop! The new release went live last night and is available for purchase directly from Gina K. Designs! Now, let’s get to hopping for some inspiration and a generous prize (details below). This is the complete hop list. If you lose your place, you can always start with Gina K.
I created a few cards for you using different mediums.
For the first card, I used the Wreath Builder Mini Kit. I used my MISTI and the 3.5″ inch template to help me stamp the wreath in various dye inks in pink and green. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I die-cut the sentiment with one of the circle dies so it would fit perfectly in the center of the wreath. I also swiped some Versamark on the corners so I could add gold glitter embossing powder. Since I normally don’t make square cards, I wanted to mount this over an A2 white card base. To make it work, I added gold glitter cardstock behind the square and added a few strokes of pink watercolor on the base before attaching the square piece.
For the second card, I used the small flowers from Stippled Flowers set. I stamped them on white cardstock with black dye ink and colored with Copic markers. I die-cut with coordinating dies. For the base, I blended pink Distess Oxide ink, added some splatters and first stamped the sentiment in black but it was a little sloppy so I stamped again With VersaMark and heat embossed in white. 🙂 I finished it off with a light wood frame.
For the third card, I wanted to channel my inner artist and decided to use kraft cardstock to stamp the images in black and add details with a white gel pen. For the kraft cardstock base, I added white and black dots and stamped sentiment in black. I used foam tape to mount the flowers over it. Super simple and fun!
For the next card, I went with a similar design but this time they were stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. These flowers have amazing detail to begin with so only a light hand at coloring is needed. 🙂
For the last card, I decided to watercolor. I used masking to stamp the flowers (and one that was mounted separately) and watercolored with my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. Once it dried, I stamped the sentiment (this set has the best sentiments!) and added a strip of black and white striped pattern paper on the side.
Hope you were inspired!
