Altenew | March 2018 Release Blog Hop (+ Giveaways)
Hello, friends! I am beyond thrilled to be back as a guest for Altenew! You should have arrived from the wonderful Laurel’s blog. Today, I am joining some talented designers for the March 2018 Release Blog Hop. Altenew has released some GORGEOUS new stencils, ink sprays, and washi tape. I am the next to last person on the list, but if you lose your way, you can start at the Altenew Card Blog or the Altenew Scrapbook Blog.
Check out the entire new release! What’s going in your cart?
Here’s are my projects. I have six cards for you today, using the new stencils, ink sprays, and washi tape.
For the first three cards, I used Floral Flurries Washi Tape. I taped the washi tape over a full sheet of white cardstock and then fussy cut all the images.
Since they had a vintage look, I decided to use the Creative Edges: Notebook Die to go with the look and blended Distress Oxide Antique Linen. I stamped a sentiment in the background in a very light ink and then the main sentiment from Sketchy Rose in a darker ink. I arranged the florals and mounted them with foam tape.
Next one I kept rather simple. I sprayed both Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray and Iridescent Shimmer Ink Spray onto my white card base. I die-cut Thinking of You in metallic gold cardstock and black foam tape and mounted it over my base. I arranged more florals and mounted them with foam tape right below the sentiment. The shimmer on this card is GORGEOUS! I wish a photograph could do it justice.
I incorporated three new products for this card. I laid down the Classy Stripes Stencil onto watercolor paper and used the Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray to “watercolor” in the stripes. I wanted to mute the background a bit but still have some of the beautiful gold showing so I decided to add some vellum. Again, I went with a “vintage” look and die-cut both sides of the vellum with Creative Edges: Lace Die. I glued it down and then added the florals, die-cut hearts, and sentiment (from Everything About You).
For next my two cards, I used the Peach Gold Washi Tape and cover plate dies. I covered A2 white cardstock with the washi tape and then die-cut them.
For this one, I used the Layered Blossom Cover Dies. I used Cover A for the peach gold washi. For Cover B, I used watercolor cardstock and watercolored with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. Then I added some of the Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray as “watercolor” and oh my, the shimmer is GORGEOUS. I stamped the sentiment in a coordinating coral ink and mounted it over the layers.
For this one, I kept it super simple! I die-cut using Doodled Lace Cover Die and mounted it to my white cardbase. The sentiment is from a recent release set, Wings of Hope. I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in white. Then I blended the background of the sentiment in Distress Oxide Tattered Rose to go with the “peach gold.”
For my last card, I used the Watercolor Strokes Washi Tape, which screamed “party” to me so I wanted to create a shaker birthday card. I haven’t made a shaker card in over a year! I added vellum to tone down the background. I die-cut the Family Framed and Happy Birthday dies in metallic gold cardstock to frame the shaker components. Easy card that is pretty!
Hope you enjoyed my worked today! The next stop on the hop is Nicole!
