Recreate an Old Card Design // National Craft Month Celebration with Right at Home + Friends (+ Giveaway)

Hello, friends! Thank you for stopping by today. I am excited to be a guest designer participating in the National Craft Month Celebration with Right at Home and Friends! For all details, be sure to visit the Right at Home Blog! Each day this week, there will be a different challenge, and today’s challenge is to recreate an old card design!

Today’s project is inspired by recreating an old card design! I was inspired by a few cards of mine from this year that I would say is my signature style these days: You’re an Inspiration to Me, Thanks, With Every Difficulty There is Ease and Thank You.

For this card, I started by stamping Anemone flower images on watercolor paper with Ranger Archival Black Ink. I watercolored loosely with my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors. For the leaves, I stamped the solid image with Altenew’s Sand Dunes Dye Ink and then watercolored over them. I added details with black pen for two of the clusters. I added black and white paint splatters to all the images, and then I fussy cut all the images and set them aside.

For the base, I splattered some black and gold paint. The sentiment from Script Greetings was stamped on black cardstock with VersaMark ink and heat embossed in white. I trimmed it down and mounted it over the card base with foam tape. I added a strip of gold glitter cardstock and then arranged the images above it. This is my go-to design for cards for floral sets and fabulous sentiments. I gave birth to a girl just last week so I have to keep things simple 🙂 See below for information about challenges and how you can win a shopping spree. I hope you’ll be able to play along and enter at least one of this week’s challenges! I’ll have another card for you tomorrow since I entered one of the challenges myself 🙂
