What can you do with one die and one stencil? I’ll show you how I challenged myself to create a set of cards with minimal supplies. I have three cards for you today.
I used Adeline Butterfly and Tap Dance Stencil. I started by die-cutting Adeline Butterfly from watercolor cardstock multiple times. I lost count 🙂 I did some very loose watercoloring on all the butterflies and set them aside to dry. Once they were dry, I added black, white, and gold paint splatters. Warning: you’re going to get some really inky fingers. I still have paint splatters on my arms (probably on my face, too). Ha. I colored all the butterfly antennae with a black brush marker (in hindsight, I probably should have just die-cut them from black cardstock). I glued the antennae onto each butterfly. Then I set about making each card.
For the first card, I did a very clean and simple look. I matted down one of the butterflies onto a black cardbase with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment from You Got This was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and adhered it below the butterfly with foam tape.
For my second card, I used gold paste with the Tap Dance Stencil. I added some black paint splatters to my card base. Once that dried, I added a few of the butterflies with foam tape. The sentiment from Emphatic was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I mounted it with foam tape.
And for my last card, I really wanted to do something bold!
This is definitely not a card you can easily mail. I’d prefer to hand deliver it due to the dimensional aspect. I added small foam tape pieces to the back of all the butterflies and set about arranging them all over a white card base. I added the sentiment over them with foam tape as well. The hard part was probably die-cutting all the butterflies 🙂 Everything else came easily.
The next person on the hop is Tracy Freeman!
