Hello, my fellow crafting friends! If you’re just finding my blog, please check out details from day one! You have until end of September 4th to make your way through all the blogs (trust me, you want to visit every.single.blog).
Read about my journey here.
I thought it would be fun to share the little pumpkin who keeps me busy these days…
If you don’t already follow my blog, I highly recommend you subscribe now! I have so many new things to share in the upcoming months. I started a sketch and watercolor series, but due to commitments, it is on hold for the next few weeks. Next month, I’ll finally be sharing my very first video tutorial so subscribe to my YouTube channel now. I’ve gotten a lot of requests for videos but it’s been hard finding the time since I have a newborn. I have a big surprise in October. I am also working on a blog series that you won’t want to miss! So look to my right sidebar to subscribe now. Thank you so so much for your support.
I recently invested in a lot of fun floral stamps from Simon Says Stamp. I have an obsession with florals so you’ll see them a lot in my work. I stamped the image from SSS’s Bouquet of Thanks on watercolor paper (SSS) and die-cut with the coordinating dies. As previously mentioned, I used my Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor Paints (SSS) to color the flowers and stems. I mixed a lot of different shades: Perylene Violet, Rose of Ultramarine, Indanthrone Blue, Green Gold, Deep Sap Green, and Payne’s Blue Gray. I eventually added some shading with Polychromos colored pencils (Burnt Umber, Light Red-Violet, Light Magenta).
For the base, I did some watercolor smooshing with an acetate sheet and the same paints. I stamped the sentiment from SSS’s Strangeness. I love quotes and words that make you think. I mounted the floral image with foam tape over my smooshed watercolor base. I finished it off with my favorite clear drops from Studio Katia (SSS).
I hope you were inspired by my work! The next blog on the list is the fabulous Amy, owner of The Stamp Market! She has generously sponsored an awesome prize for the hop so please thank her on Instagram when you get a chance! The full blog hop list is below.
In celebration of this anniversary, we have several amazing sponsors. Let’s thank them for their generosity! Winners will be randomly selected from comments left on ALL the blogs. The winners will be announced by Wednesday, September 5 on this page. Winners will have up to 2 weeks to contact Rubeena at email@example.com to claim their prize before another winner is selected.
