Watercolor Starry Night with Altenew September 2018 Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaways

Hello, friends! Today I am part of the Altenew September 2018 Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop today. I am sharing a non-traditional way to use a holiday set by creating a watercolor starry night look.

I’m the last stop on the hop, and you should have arrived from Sara Naumann’s blog. You can always start from the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog.

RELEASE

PROJECT

Affiliate links may be used in this post. You can find the lists of my favorite supplies here.

My card features Starry Night, which has varied star stamps and beautiful sentiments. It was so simple to make, I know you’ll want to try this, too. I used the triangle cluster of stars and stamped three times with embossing ink on watercolor paper. I used a stamp platform to make sure I get a good stamp. Then I heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I watercolored using the Altenew 36 Pan Watercolor Set. I used various shades of purple, blue, and black. Once it was completely dry, I added white paint splatters. Of course I finished it off with a white-embossed sentiment on black cardstock, trimmed down and mounted over the base. You can use the different star clusters to create all kinds of looks. I have always loved skies and galaxies and am happy to be practicing more of these now. What about you?
